Laboratory Assistant

PE Global is currently recruiting for a Laboratory Assistant to join our scientific testing client based in Reading. The role is an initial 5-month contract and the rate for this role is £15.00 p/hour PAYE.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory administration tasks to support day-to-day laboratory operations.
\n
• Clean, prepare, and maintain laboratory glassware and equipment.
\n
• Ensure laboratory consumables are stocked and readily available.
\n
• Manage laboratory waste streams in accordance with safety and environmental procedures.
\n
• Maintain high standards of laboratory cleanliness and organisation.
\n
• Carry out routine calibration of laboratory equipment.
\n
• Monitor and manage laboratory inventory and supplies.
\n
• Ensure laboratory activities comply with quality standards, health & safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

\n
• Previous experience working in a laboratory or scientific environment.
\n
• Experience carrying out laboratory support or laboratory assistant duties.
\n
• Good organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
\n
• Ability to follow laboratory procedures and quality standards.
\n
• Comfortable handling laboratory consumables, equipment, and waste safely.
\n
• Experience with equipment calibration and inventory management is advantageous.
\n
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
\n
