About the Role

\n

We are seeking an Associate Director and Director to lead our Quantum Dispute Resolution team in London. This is a senior leadership role suited to a quantum expert with a strong track record in disputes and experience delivering expert advice at the highest level. You will help shape and grow our expert services in London and the South-East, while managing client relationships, developing business opportunities, and mentoring a team of talented consultants. This is an opportunity to play a key role in Adair’s continued growth in the dispute resolution space.

Key Responsibilities

Quality & Client Delivery

  • Provide expert, independent advice on quantum matters in construction disputes.
  • \n
  • Constructively challenge clients' views or expectations and present meaningful alternatives.
  • \n
  • Ensure high-quality service delivery, adhering to Adair’s policies and procedures.
  • \n
  • Manage projects effectively, ensuring key milestones and deadlines are met.
  • \n
  • Continuously improve Adair’s dispute resolution services and contribute to best practices.
  • \n

Financial Management

  • Report regularly to the Board on financial performance and service delivery.
  • \n
  • Negotiate fees and costs effectively.
  • \n
  • Monitor performance against fee income targets and take corrective action where necessary.
  • \n
  • Support the Board in achieving financial objectives.
  • \n

People Leadership

  • Lead and develop a small team, setting high professional standards.
  • \n
  • Mentor, coach, and support team members in their career development.
  • \n
  • Evaluate team performance and implement development initiatives.
  • \n
  • Foster a collaborative “one firm” culture within Adair.

Business Development

  • Identify and establish new client relationships and business opportunities.
  • \n
  • Maintain and strengthen existing client and consultant relationships.
  • \n
  • Support Directors in tendering for services, including attending interviews.
  • \n
  • Represent and promote Adair positively in all professional interactions.
  • \n
  • Lead the production of marketing materials for relevant projects.
  • \n

What You’ll Need

\n
    \n
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying.
  • \n
  • Full membership of RICS (MRICS/FRICS).
  • \n
  • MSc in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution (or equivalent).
  • \n
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
  • \n
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality services.
  • \n
