Lead Data Architect
Job Description
Data is becoming one of the most valuable assets in financial services, and this is an opportunity to define how a global organisation uses it for years to come.
\nWe're partnering with a leading Financial Services organisation investing heavily in its technology and data capabilities, with Edinburgh at the centre of that journey. As part of a major digital transformation programme, they're looking for a Lead Data Architect to take ownership of their enterprise data strategy and help build a modern, cloud-native data platform that will support business-critical operations, analytics and decision-making across the globe.
\nThis isn't a role where you'll simply maintain what's already there. You'll be shaping the future state, influencing senior stakeholders, defining architecture standards and helping create a data platform capable of supporting a complex international business operating at significant scale.
What you'll be doing\n\n
\n
- \n
- Defining the long-term vision and roadmap for enterprise data architecture \n
- Leading the design of a modern cloud-based data platform built on Microsoft technologies \n
- Driving best practice across data governance, engineering, analytics, visualisation and master data management \n
- Partnering with senior business and technology leaders to align data strategy with business objectives \n
- Influencing key architecture decisions across multiple programmes and product teams \n
- Helping establish data as a trusted, strategic asset across the organisation \n
\nWhat we're looking for\n
\n
\n
- \n
- Proven experience in Data Architecture within large, complex organisations \n
- Strong expertise across Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI and modern data platforms \n
- Excellent understanding of data engineering, analytics, governance and data management principles \n
- Experience designing enterprise-scale cloud and SaaS data solutions \n
- Ability to engage, influence and challenge senior stakeholders \n
- Background within Financial Services, FinTech or similarly regulated environments \n
\nWhy consider this role?\n
\n
\n
- \n
- Opportunity to lead enterprise-wide Data Architecture rather than a single programme \n
- Significant investment in modern data technologies and platforms \n
- High-profile role with visibility across senior leadership teams \n
- Join a growing technology hub in Edinburgh with ambitious expansion plans \n
- Flexible hybrid working environment \n
- Strong culture of learning, development and career progression \n
- Chance to play a key role in a global transformation programme \n
If you're a Data Architect who enjoys setting strategy, influencing technology direction and building modern data capabilities at scale, this is an opportunity to make a genuine impact within a globally recognised Financial Services organisation.
