Accounts Assistant

CMC Consulting is partnering with a rapidly growing FMCG business in Bedfordshire to recruit for an exciting opportunity within its finance team. This role is ideally suited to an ambitious finance professional looking to broaden their experience in a well-rounded position while continuing to develop their accountancy qualification and progress their career.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform bank reconciliations across multiple accounts and support treasury activities, including funding reconciliations and cash management.
\n
• Assist with month-end processes, including journals, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and supplier payment runs.
\n
• Manage supplier recharges, promotional contributions and miscellaneous invoicing, ensuring timely billing and collection of outstanding balances.
\n
• Process employee expenses, ensuring compliance with company policies, VAT requirements and accurate general ledger coding.
\n
• Maintain and update customer and supplier rebate agreements within the ERP system, ensuring commercial terms remain accurate and up to date.
\n
• Liaise with commercial teams to validate rebate data and support the administration of customer and supplier agreements.
\n
• Investigate and resolve finance-related queries while supporting audits, process improvements and wider finance projects.

Skills & Experience

\n
• Previous experience within a similar role.
\n
• Strong attention to detail with excellent accuracy and organisational skills.
\n
• Good working knowledge of Excel, including common formulas and data analysis tools.
\n
• Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
\n
• Experience using an ERP or finance system.
\n
• Studying towards, or interested in pursuing, a professional accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA or CIMA).
