Salary: £42,004 per annum (inclusive of £3,425 shift allowance)\n
Hours: 45 hours per week (Split shifts between 06:00 and 18:00)\n

TheHGV Technician Role\n
\nAre you an experienced (Heavy Goods Vehicle) HGV Technician looking for stability, excellent pay, and a modern workshop setting? We are seeking a skilled technician to join our established commercial vehicle maintenance team in Weston-super-Mare.\n
\nIn the HGV Technician role, you will play a central part in keeping essential, high-profile commercial vehicles operating safely and reliably across the region. From routine MOT preparations to complex system diagnostics, you will enjoy a varied day-to-day workload within a safety-conscious and supportive team.\n
Key Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Maintenance & Repair: Carry out preventative maintenance, routine servicing, and repairs on commercial vehicles, plant, and equipment to DVSA and manufacturer standards.
  • \n
  • MOT Preparation: Perform detailed inspections and complete all necessary prep work to ensure vehicles meet regulatory standards.
  • \n
  • Advanced Diagnostics: Use modern diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and repair complex auto-electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • \n
  • Field Support: Respond to vehicle breakdowns, diagnose issues, and coordinate recovery or off-site repairs when required.
  • \n
  • Team Leadership: Maintain accurate documentation, ensure workshop safety, and mentor apprentices within the team.
  • \n

\n HGV Technician Requirements
\n
    \n
  • Qualified Specialist: Apprenticeship trained with a City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in HGV Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
  • \n
  • Proven Track Record: Solid experience in commercial vehicle servicing, fault diagnosis, and repairexperience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and waste management bodywork systems is a strong advantage.
  • \n
  • License: A valid LGV Class C / HGV Class 2 licence is desirable, but not essential.
  • \n
  • Safety First: Ability to work independently, safely, and competently in a physically active environment.
  • \n
