Job Purpose / Summary
\nKnowlton and Newman, part of the Rubix Group, provide 24/7 engineering services. We repair, overhaul, install, and maintain pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, hydraulic equipment and cover a wide range of industrial equipment for customers across multiple sectors
\nKey Responsibilities

- Ensure workflow procedures are followed. \n
- Operate various machines tools to manufacture and repair mechanical assemblies. \n
- Record all data necessary to produce and expected service and/or design results including sizes and illustrations. \n
- Perform milling operations such as drilling, tapping, boring, and conventional milling and lathe work, using various engine lathes (e.g., horizontal and vertical mills and horizontal boring lathes). \n
- Balance mechanical assemblies using dynamic balancing equipment. \n
- Perform various metalizing (metal spraying) techniques as needed. \n
- Understand materials and applications as required. \n
- Set up and perform tool-post grinding operations (e.g., precision surface facing), broaching procedures, and Babbitt bearing work. \n
- Perform various welding operations, including setup and use of MIG, TIG, torch and stick welders. \n
- Lift, tighten, adjust and/or secure heavy objects in order to perform work and/or to observe safety precautions. \n
- Use various hand-held and stationary power and non-power tools, including but not limited to band saw, belt sanders, hand grinders, files, etc. \n
- Ensure that all company H&S policies and procedures are followed to ensure the safety of yourself and your colleagues. \n
- Promote a culture of working safely as routine. \n
