Motion & Compositing Artist -- The Forge

The Forge Photographic Services Ltd
London, ENG, GB Full Time

Job Description

Location: Stoke Newington, Hackney, London (studio-based, N16)

\n

Type: Full-time, in-house

\n

\n

About The Forge

\n

We're a technical production company working at the intersection of craft and technology — motion control, CGI, virtual production, AI-assisted workflows and VFX, alongside retouching, grading and edit. We're known for being tech-forward, and that shapes how we solve problems for clients: Apple, LVMH, Diageo, Tiffany & Co., Graff, De Beers and Watches of Switzerland among them. Fifteen-plus years in, we're still built around getting the image right — however it's made.

\n

\n

The Role

\n

We're hiring a Motion & Compositing Artist to join our production team full-time, in-house. This is a hands-on role at the centre of our motion workflow, built around DaVinci Resolve and Fusion.

\n

\n

Core requirement:

\n
    \n
  • Strong compositing and cleanup skills in Fusion/Resolve — wire removal, rig removal, paint, tracking, keying, integrating CG or plate elements cleanly.
  • \n
  • At least 3 years' industry experience, specifically within drinks or still life production. We're looking for someone whose background is in that world rather than beauty.
  • \n
\n

\n

We'd love to see one or more of these as well — you don't need all of them, but breadth and curiosity across this list matters more to us than depth in a single lane:

\n
    \n
  • AI-assisted image/video workflows (generative tools, upscaling, style-locked pipelines)
  • \n
  • CGI (lighting, rendering, integration with live-action plates)
  • \n
  • Unreal Engine / virtual production
  • \n
  • Camera work or live-action capture experience
  • \n
  • Motion control systems (MRMC / Bolt-style rigs or similar)
  • \n
\n

\n

What We're Looking For

\n
    \n
  • Someone who treats Fusion/Resolve as a proper toolset, not just a plugin host
  • \n
  • A problem-solver who's comfortable moving between "fix this frame" and "help us build the next pipeline"
  • \n
  • Genuine interest in where technical production and emerging tech meet — not just tool familiarity, but appetite to keep learning
  • \n
  • Able to work to the standard our clients expect: luxury brand-level polish, tight timelines, no shortcuts on quality
  • \n
\n

\n

Why The Forge

\n
    \n
  • You'll be working across some of the most technically ambitious jobs in luxury drinks and still life production — motion control, CGI and AI workflows sitting alongside classic studio production, all under one roof. Small team, broad remit, real ownership of your craft.
