Senior Planning Solicitor

We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority based in Oxfordshire, who are recruiting for a Senior Planning Solicitor on an initial 3-month locum contract. The position is due to start in August, and the hourly rate of pay is negotiable up to £65 via an Umbrella company.

They are looking for someone to attend one planning committee per month. The ideal candidate needs to have a good knowledge of planning so that they can draft section 106 agreements without supervision, deal with Judicial Reviews and attend planning committees.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Managing a varied caseload, providing expert legal advice on complex planning matters
\n
• Drafting, negotiating and completing Section 106 Agreements, ensuring compliance with current planning legislation, CIL requirements and recent legislative changes
\n
• Advising on Judicial Review matters, managing legal processes and deadlines, and attending Planning Committees as required
\n
• Providing wider legal support where required, including licensing, enforcement, contract drafting, prosecutions and the review of reports across a broad range of local government matters

Experience required:

• Experience required in Local Government
\n
• Significant experience with Planning law
\n

Working hours:

\n
• 37 hours per week
\n
• Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
\n
