\nReporting to: Operations Manager
\nThe Role
\nWe are seeking an experienced Civils & Groundworks Contracts Manager to join our Operations team and play a key role in the successful delivery of our construction and groundworks projects. This is a senior, hands-on role offering autonomy, responsibility and the opportunity to influence projects from inception through to completion.
\nWorking closely with site, design and commercial teams, you will take full ownership of contracts on site ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nManage all aspects of contracts from commencement through to completion
\nEnsure projects are delivered within agreed budgets and programmes
\nTake responsibility for financial monitoring, cost control and reporting
\nMaintain compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards
\nLiaise directly with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and stakeholders
\nCoordinate labour, logistics and programmes of works in conjunction with internal teams
\nOversee pricing, programming and contract negotiations
\nNegotiate subcontract terms and ensure all agreements are back-to-back with main contracts
\nIdentify, manage and mitigate contractual and construction-related risks
\nConduct site visits and inspections to ensure quality and regulatory compliance
\nProvide leadership, direction and development to site and contracts teams
\nEnsure accurate project documentation is maintained at all times
\nComplete site handovers, including final documentation and photographic records
\nAbout You
\nYou will be a confident and commercially astute Contracts Manager with a strong background in groundworks and civil engineering, capable of managing multiple stakeholders and working effectively in a fast-paced construction environment. Experience in the Sports & Play Sector would be advantageous
\nEssential Requirements
\nProven experience managing direct and subcontract labour
\nStrong background in groundworks and civil engineering projects
\nExcellent commercial, numerical and analytical skills
\nStrong communication and negotiation abilities
\nAbility to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
\nSMSTS qualification
\nValid CSCS card
\nMinimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English
\nDesirable
\nCivil Engineering qualification or equivalent degree
\nExperience working in the Sports & Play Sector
\nLevel 6 NVQ in Construction Contracting Operations Management
\nExperience as a Project or Contracts Manager within the groundworks sector
\nProficiency in Microsoft Project
\nExperience delivering large infrastructure projects
