\nThe Role
\nKey Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Prepare Fire Strategy Reports for new and existing developments. \n
- Develop fire and life safety strategies across multiple sectors. \n
- Carry out fire engineering assessments and compliance reviews. \n
- Undertake smoke control and evacuation assessments. \n
- Review architectural and MEP drawings to ensure fire safety compliance. \n
- Design and assess active fire protection systems including: \n
- Sprinkler Systems \n
- Water Mist Systems \n
- Fire Pumps \n
- Hydrants \n
- Fire Mains \n
- Gaseous Suppression Systems \n
- Review hydraulic calculations and fire suppression designs. \n
- Coordinate fire alarm systems, smoke control and BMS cause-and-effect requirements. \n
- Support DSEAR and ATEX risk assessments where required. \n
- Produce technical reports, specifications and design documentation. \n
- Provide technical assurance and quality reviews. \n
- Attend client meetings and multidisciplinary design workshops. \n
- Liaise with Building Control, approving authorities and key stakeholders. \n
- Support site inspections, commissioning and witnessing activities. \n
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to business growth. \n

\nKey Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Develop fire engineering strategies in line with BS 9999, BS9991, BS 7974, Approved Document B, and other relevant Fire Protection Standards. \n
- Design and assess active fire protection systems, including sprinkler systems, water mist systems, and gaseous suppression systems. \n
- Conduct fire risk assessments and provide technical fire safety advice to clients. \n
- Assist in CFD modelling and fire simulations where required. \n
- Conduct Fire systems design in BIM software (i.e. Revit) for integration with other disciplines. \n
- Liaise with clients, architects, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with UK fire safety regulations. \n
- Prepare technical reports, fire safety statements, and evacuation strategies. \n
- Support senior engineers in project delivery and mentor junior team members. \n
Requirements
\n- \n
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. \n
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in fire engineering consultancy or a related role. \n
- Strong knowledge of BS 9999, BS 7974, Approved Document B, and other relevant fire standards. \n
- Knowledge of fire suppression systems, including sprinklers, water mist, and gaseous systems. \n
- Familiarity with computational tools such as Revit, AutoSprink, PyroSim, FDS, or CFAST (preferred but not essential as training can be provided). \n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. \n
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team. \n
