Head of Risk
Job Description
A leading FCA-regulated financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Head of Risk to lead and enhance its enterprise risk management framework.
\nThis is a high-profile leadership opportunity to shape the organisation's risk strategy, governance framework and operational resilience agenda, while working closely with Executive leadership and the Board.
\nKey responsibilities include:
\n- \n
- Leading the development and continuous improvement of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework. \n
- Designing and embedding a risk-based governance programme across the business. \n
- Developing risk identification, assessment, mitigation and monitoring processes. \n
- Owning the Risk Appetite Framework, Risk Registers and Board reporting. \n
- Partnering with senior stakeholders to ensure risk is embedded into strategic decision-making. \n
- Leading the organisation's Operational Resilience strategy and framework. \n
- Overseeing incident management, root cause analysis and control improvements. \n
- Working closely with Internal Audit to ensure effective oversight of key risks. \n
- Producing insightful reporting for Executive Committees and the Board. \n
- Driving a strong, positive risk culture across the organisation. \n
- Leading and developing a high-performing risk team. \n
About You
\nWe're looking for an experienced risk professional who can demonstrate:
\n- \n
- A strong background in Enterprise Risk, Operational Risk, Governance or Risk & Compliance leadership. \n
- Experience working within an FCA-regulated environment (Insurance would be an advantage) \n
- Strong knowledge of enterprise risk frameworks and governance best practice. \n
- Experience leading Operational Resilience programmes. \n
- Understanding of SMCR, AML and wider regulatory requirements. \n
- The ability to influence, challenge and engage senior stakeholders at Executive and Board level. \n
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to build and develop successful teams. \n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. \n
