Operations Manager | RC Frame & Groundworks

Location: South Coast| Salary: £80,000 - £95,000

We are working with a well-established specialist contractor known for delivering high-quality reinforced concrete frame and groundworks packages. With a strong pipeline and ambitious growth plans, they are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to take strategic ownership of project delivery across the business.

The role:

    \n
  • Lead the delivery of multiple concurrent RC frame and groundworks projects, taking overall responsibility for operational performance
  • \n
  • Provide leadership and direction to project and site teams, including Contracts Managers and Project Managers
  • \n
  • Own resource planning across the portfolio, balancing labour, plant and subcontractors to meet programme demands
  • \n
  • Drive commercial performance, working closely with the commercial team on budgets, margins and project profitability
  • \n
  • Act as a senior point of contact for key clients, protecting and growing important relationships
  • \n
  • Set and uphold health, safety, quality and environmental standards across all live projects
  • \n
  • Contribute to operational strategy, process improvement and the continued growth of the delivery function
  • \n

What you will bring:

  • Proven experience at Operations Manager or senior Contracts Manager level within civil engineering
  • \n
  • Strong background in RC frame construction and groundworks
  • \n
  • A track record of delivering multiple projects safely, to programme and to budget
  • \n
  • Commercial acumen and confidence managing project financials at portfolio level
  • \n
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to manage senior client relationships
  • \n
  • Relevant qualifications such as SMSTS, CSCS and a degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or Construction (desirable)
