We are seeking a talented Design Manager to support the coordination, development and delivery of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) design packages from concept through to construction and commissioning. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, you will help ensure designs are safe, compliant, buildable and delivered to programme.

The Role

\n

Reporting to the Lead Design Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the management and coordination of MEP design activities, ensuring design solutions meet project requirements, quality standards and programme objectives.

\n

Key duties will include:

\n
    \n
  • Supporting the delivery of MEP design packages throughout the project lifecycle.
  • \n
  • Coordinating design interfaces between MEP, civil, structural and architectural disciplines.
  • \n
  • Reviewing design submissions, technical documentation and specifications.
  • \n
  • Supporting design assurance, verification and approval processes.
  • \n
  • Participating in design reviews, risk workshops and value engineering exercises.
  • \n
  • Monitoring design progress and assisting with the resolution of technical issues.
  • \n
  • Working closely with construction teams to ensure designs are practical and buildable.
  • \n
  • Managing design changes and configuration control procedures.
  • \n
  • Maintaining accurate design records, reports and project documentation.
  • \n
  • Building strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and project stakeholders.
  • \n

Key Skills & Experience Required

\n

To be successful in this role, you will have:

\n
    \n
  • Previous experience within MEP Design, Building Services Engineering, Design Coordination or Engineering Management.
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems.
  • \n
  • Experience working on large-scale construction, infrastructure, engineering or complex building projects.
  • \n
  • A solid understanding of design management processes, technical assurance and risk management.
  • \n
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing design interfaces.
  • \n
  • Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • \n
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
  • \n
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced project environment.
  • \n
