Our client is a well-established professional services business based in the Sutton Coldfield area, supporting a diverse portfolio of clients across a wide range of sectors.

You will join a friendly and experienced team, delivering high-quality, commercially focused support to existing clients. The successful candidate will be confident handling complex and sensitive matters, able to work independently, and capable of implementing effective systems and processes to ensure an efficient and professional service.

HR Consultant Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key point of contact for general and people-related enquiries, providing a professional and responsive service.
  • \n
  • Manage a varied and frequently changing employee relations caseload.
  • \n
  • Prepare and maintain documentation, including policies, procedures, contracts, correspondence and paperwork relating to formal processes.
  • \n
  • Provide guidance on absence management and support both formal and informal workplace meetings.
  • \n
  • Conduct investigations into disciplinary, grievance, attendance and capability matters, producing clear reports and recommendations.
  • \n
  • Attend formal hearings when required to present findings and advise those involved on the correct process.
  • \n
  • Coordinate arrangements for meetings and hearings, including scheduling, invitations, documentation and meeting packs.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate employee records, databases and internal systems, ensuring effective processes are followed.
  • \n
  • Travel occasionally to other local sites to provide in-person support.
  • \n
  • Assist with general administrative duties to support the smooth day-to-day running of the business.

HR Consultant Skills and Experience:

    \n
  • At least three years' experience providing professional HR advice and support.
  • \n
  • Strong employee relations experience, including advising, coaching and influencing managers.
  • \n
  • CIPD Level 3 or Level 5 qualification, or currently working towards one.
  • \n
  • Confident and professional communication skills, both over the telephone and in person.
  • \n
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • \n
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, with experience implementing effective systems and processes.
