Clinical Lead – Addictions
\nDerby, Derbyshire
\n£50,500 - £62,500 per annum DOE
\nFull-time, permanent (35 hours per week)
\nCompass Associates is proud to be partnering with a well-established health and social care charity delivering specialist drug and alcohol recovery services across the UK. We are seeking an experienced Clinical Lead to provide clinical oversight within their Derby-based service.
\nYou will be joining an established and values-driven organisation that supports individuals experiencing substance use challenges through a person-centred approach, combining harm reduction, treatment, recovery support, and long-term wellbeing interventions.
\nAs Clinical Lead, you will provide clinical leadership to an experienced multidisciplinary team, ensuring high-quality, safe and effective care for service users accessing drug and alcohol treatment pathways.
\nKey Responsibilities:
\n- \n
- Provide clinical leadership and supervision to a team of prescribing clinicians and complex needs nurses \n
- Support safe and effective clinical practice through supervision, consultation and reflective practice \n
- Maintain oversight of clinical standards, SOP compliance and regulatory requirements \n
- Continue clinical practice through regular prescribing clinics \n
- Support incident reviews, safeguarding processes and drug/alcohol-related death case reviews \n
- Work collaboratively with operational leaders, commissioners and wider healthcare partners \n
- Promote a strengths-based, person-centred approach to recovery and treatment \n

Essential Criteria:
\n- \n
- Registered Nurse (RMN/RGN) or Pharmacist with an independent prescribing qualification \n
- Significant experience working within substance use services \n
- Strong clinical credibility with experience supporting or supervising experienced practitioners \n
- Understanding of opioid substitution treatment and wider drug and alcohol treatment pathways \n
- Confident working within a community-based substance use service environment \n
- Strong understanding of clinical governance, risk management and quality improvement \n
Desirable Criteria:
\n- \n
- Experience providing clinical supervision within a multidisciplinary team \n
- Experience working within non-NHS healthcare environments \n
- Previous involvement in service development, audits or clinical governance activities \n
Interview Process:
\n1st stage: Temas interview with the Clinical Director and a senior service representative
\n2nd stage: In-person visit to the service
