Export LCL Operator

Location: Purfleet (office and warehouse based)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:30

Salary: Up to £30,000, depending on experience

Reporting to: Operations Manager, with day-to-day support from a senior team member

Overview

Our client is a freight forwarding and logistics business. The Purfleet office is based at their LCL warehouse and the team there consists of an office team, a warehouse operative, and a sales team.

This role is predominantly office-based, but the candidate must be comfortable going into the warehouse as and when needed to check freight, label boxes, and open shipments. Flexibility and a willingness to get hands-on are important.

Key Responsibilities

• Running consolidations out to the Caribbean

• Taking and making bookings with hauliers

• Coordinating freight volumes

What Our Client Is Looking For

Our client is looking for someone with around 1 to 2 years of experience in LCL exports and groupage. They want someone who doesn't need to start from scratch, but this isn't a senior-level position.

• Good communication skills and strong customer service ability

• Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

• Organised, detail-oriented, and able to spell and write clearly

• Must be a driver with access to their own vehicle, as the location isn't easily accessible by public transport
