Public Sector Reform Project Manager
\nCouncil Offices, Kirkwall
\n35 hours per week
\nTemporary to 31 December 2027
\n£48,017 - £50,919
\n£26.31 - £27.90 per hour
\nThe above amounts include Distant Islands Allowance
\nYou will be reporting to the Service Manager for Policy and Communications.
\nYour working pattern is Monday - Friday. We are happy to talk flexible working, where possible.
\nThe purpose of this role will include ensuring the Public Service Reform Leadership, which includes representatives from Orkney Islands Council, NHS Orkney and the Integration Joint Board, are fully supported on all matters relating to Public Service Reform in Orkney.
\nPublic Service Reform is focused on improving how local services work together to deliver better outcomes for people in Orkney. Working across Orkney Islands Council, NHS Orkney and other partners, the programme aims to develop more integrated and effective ways of delivering services, supported by national and local policy priorities.
\nAs Public Service Reform Project Manager, you will support the Orkney Public Service Reform Steering Group in driving this agenda forward. Working closely with senior leaders and partners, you will help identify opportunities for change, coordinate activity and turn ideas into practical service improvements.
\nThe role involves managing projects and workstreams, organising meetings, monitoring progress and supporting engagement with communities, stakeholders and partner organisations. You will help build strong relationships and ensure projects remain focused on delivering positive outcomes for local people.
\nYou will also contribute to communications, reports and briefings, translating complex information and policy developments into clear, accessible messages for a range of audiences.
\nWe are looking for an organised and proactive individual with experience of project management, service improvement or organisational change. Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and IT skills are essential, together with the ability to work collaboratively, manage competing priorities and maintain a high standard of written work.
