Are you a qualified NDT Inspector with PT and MT certifications, looking for a hands-on role where you can ensure component integrity and support high-quality precision manufacturing?Our exclusive client NMB Minebea UK , part of a global manufacturing group with operations across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, is renowned for precision engineering and the production of mission-critical components.This NDT Inspector role is based in Lincoln, working within the Quality Department. You will perform critical non-destructive testing using Dye Penetrant (PT) and Magnetic Particle (MT) methods to verify the integrity of manufactured components and welds, playing a key role in maintaining the highest quality standards on the shop floor.As the NDT Inspector, your responsibilities will include:Performing Dye Penetrant (PT) and Magnetic Particle (MT) inspections on components and welds in accordance with approved proceduresSetting up, calibrating, and operating NDT equipment using established techniquesInterpreting test results, evaluating indications against acceptance criteria, and accurately classifying defectsPreparing and maintaining NDT procedures, work instructions, and detailed inspection recordsPreparing test areas and ensuring compliance with specifications and quality standardsSupporting production teams with workflow, line balancing, and basic process improvement activitiesCollecting and analysing production data and KPIs to drive continuous improvementProviding day-to-day practical support and guidance to operators on best practicesWorking closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to support quality assurance and new product introductionsObserving and promoting safe working practices at all timesParticipating in waste reduction, cost saving, and efficiency improvement projectsEnsuring full compliance with health & safety standards, quality requirements, and company proceduresAs the NDT Inspector you will bring:EssentialCurrent EN4179 and NAS410 qualifications in Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)Proven experience performing PT and MT inspections in a manufacturing environmentStrong attention to detail with the ability to interpret inspection results accuratelyGood communication skills and the ability to work effectively with shop floor and cross-functional teamsCompetence in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and the ability to maintain accurate documentationAwareness of health & safety requirements in a production environmentWillingness to learn and support lean manufacturing / continuous improvement principlesDesirableHNC/HND, degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial EngineeringExperience with Time & Motion studies, cycle time analysis, or standard work developmentFamiliarity with ERP/MRP systems or production reporting toolsBackground in high-volume or precision manufacturingFormal Lean or Six Sigma awareness/trainingExperience in project work or continuous improvement initiativesShift Patterns (Overtime available when required)A Shift (no premium): MonThu 06:0013:35 | Fri 06:0012:45B Shift (20% premium on Friday): MonThu 13:2521:05 | Fri 12:3519:00Benefits25 days holiday + bank holidaysCompany pension (5% employer contribution)Subsidised health care & personal accident planDeath in service schemeUniform, bike to work scheme, employee suggestion schemeOn-site canteen & parkingLong service award & employee referral schemeThis NDT Inspector position offers the opportunity to join a well-established, quality-focused manufacturing site where your technical expertise directly contributes to product integrity and operational excellence.
