The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant Level 2 to support learning within a Year 3 classroom. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to help deliver engaging lessons, provide targeted support to pupils, and contribute to a positive learning environment where children feel valued and encouraged to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality teaching and learning activities.
  • \n
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and improve attainment.
  • \n
  • Assist in the preparation of learning resources and classroom displays.
  • \n
  • Support pupils with varying learning needs, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.
  • \n
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupils to develop confidence and independence.
  • \n
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to the class teacher.
  • \n
  • Assist with classroom organisation and maintaining a safe and stimulating learning environment.
  • \n
  • Support pupils during break times, educational visits, and school activities when required.
  • \n
  • Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents in line with the school's nurturing ethos.
  • \n
  • Adhere to all safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies.
  • \n

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

Essential

\n

  • Previous experience working with primary-aged children.
  • \n
  • A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • \n
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • \n
  • The ability to build positive relationships with children and colleagues.
  • \n
  • A patient, caring, and supportive approach.
  • \n
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • \n
  • An understanding of safeguarding responsibilities within a school setting.
  • \n
\n

Desirable

  • Experience supporting pupils within Key Stage 2.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of the Year 3 curriculum.
  • \n
  • Experience supporting children with additional learning needs.
  • \n
  • First Aid qualification.
