Leatherhead, Surrey | Full-Time | Permanent | Teacher of Science | Start Date: September 2026/ Janaury 2027

We are seeking to appoint an inspiring and enthusiastic Teacher of Science to join our successful and well-resourced Science Department in Leatherhead, Surrey, from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented educator to teach across the secondary age range and foster a passion for scientific discovery in young people.

\n

The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge and the ability to engage, motivate and challenge pupils. They will be committed to high academic standards and to supporting pupils of all abilities to achieve their full potential.

\n

Salary: £34,397 - £52,489 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n
    \n
  • Teacher of Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach a specialism at Key Stage 5.
  • \n
  • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality lessons that inspire and challenge pupils.
  • \n
  • Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress effectively.
  • \n
  • Contribute to the development of the Science curriculum and departmental initiatives.
  • \n
  • Participate fully in the wider life of the school, including pastoral and co-curricular activities.
  • \n

The Successful Candidate for a Teacher of Science

  • A degree in a Science-related subject.
  • \n
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • \n
  • Experience of teaching Science at secondary level.
  • \n
  • Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • \n
  • A commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.
  • \n
  • A dedication to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • \n
