Job Description

As a SEN Tutor, you will:

    \n
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging sessions that meet the needs of students.
  • \n
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential.
  • \n
  • Record student progress and report on this weekly.
  • \n
  • Be understanding, empathetic and patient.
  • \n
  • Record attendance.
  • \n
  • Be organised, dependable and creative.
  • \n
  • Be calm, fair and adaptable.
  • \n

About you:

    \n
  • \n
      \n
    • Experience working with young people in UK schools
    • \n
    • Background in SEN education or alternative provision- desirable but not essential
    • \n
    • Confident delivering Maths and English
    • \n
    • Empathetic, reliable, and calm under pressure
    • \n
    • Able to build trusting relationships and foster a love of learning
    • \n
    • Experience of working with young people with SEMH needs
    • \n
    \n
\n

Position - Tutor based in DT8 Contract or position start date - ASAP Contract or position end date (if applicable) - N/A Full time/part-time - Opportunities for both Hours - Up to 15 Hours per week- for the right candidate, this can be increased to full time.

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

  • \n
      \n
    • \n
        \n
      • Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools- ESSENTIAL
      • \n
      • Experience of working with learners with SEN/SEMH needs
      • \n
      \n
    \n

To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

  • Hold right to work in the UK
  • \n
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • \n
  • Provide references upon request
  • \n
  • Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
