The Group continues to invest in keeping its fleet safe, compliant and on the road across all its sites.We're looking for an experienced Field Service Technician to join our HGV Mechanic Team, working from a fully equipped service vehicle to deliver maintenance, servicing, diagnostics and repairs to our fleet wherever it's needed.Salary: £22.50 per hour, monthly paid, plus overtime at time and a quarter after contracted hoursLocation: Based from Low Marnham, NG23 6SP, travelling to JG Pears sites as requiredWorking pattern: Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 4:00pmCore BenefitsRetention bonus after a qualifying period28 days holiday entitlement (pro-rata)Paid breaksCompany pension scheme (employer contribution 3% Employee contribution 5%)Company sick pay scheme£300 Introduce a Friend rewardAbout the RoleThis is a road-based role, working from a fully equipped service vehicle to respond to planned maintenance and breakdowns across JG Pears sites. You'll be trusted to manage your own workload independently while keeping the fleet safe, compliant and operational.What You'll Be DoingCarrying out planned servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGV trucks and trailers across JG Pears sitesTravelling to company sites to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faultsResponding to vehicle breakdowns and providing effective roadside and onsite supportCompleting inspections and preventative maintenance to minimise downtimePreparing vehicles for MOT and ensuring full DVSA complianceCompleting all maintenance records and paperwork accuratelyLiaising with the workshop team and operational departments to prioritise repairs and maximise fleet availabilityWhat You'll BringFully qualified HGV Technician with a City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalentPrevious experience maintaining and repairing HGV trucks and trailersStrong fault finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systemsAbility to work independently and manage your own workload while working remotelyExcellent attention to detail with a strong focus on safety, quality and complianceFull UK driving licenceAdditional Benefits & PerksLife assuranceOccupational health24/7 GP and Mental Health Support, Wellbeing and Nutrition Programmes, Second Medical Opinion, Health Resources, Emotional Wellbeing App, Smoking Cessation Support and Bereavement CounsellingJG Pears Rewards (retail, restaurant and gym discounts)Additional InformationDue to the site's location, own transport is essential.Ready to take the next step?
