\nWe are working closely with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Rugby who are seeking a caring, patient, and dedicated SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.
\nThis is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and wants to provide tailored, individual support within a nurturing school environment.
\nThe successful candidate will work closely with a child on a one-to-one basis, helping them overcome barriers to learning, develop independence, and engage positively with their education. The school supports pupils with a range of needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, social and emotional needs, and learning difficulties.
Your Role Will Involve:\n- \n

Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs

Supporting the child's academic, social, and emotional development
\n - \n
Assisting the class teacher with personalised learning activities and interventions
\n - \n
Helping the pupil manage emotions, regulate behaviour, and engage in classroom activities
\n - \n
Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive relationships
\n - \n
Supporting communication and social skills development
\n - \n
Creating a calm, consistent, and inclusive learning environment
\n - \n
Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals where required

Has a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN

Is patient, caring, and able to build strong relationships with pupils

Has a calm and consistent approach when supporting challenging situations

Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Is resilient, proactive, and adaptable
\n - \n
Has experience working with children in a school, care, nursery, youth work, or similar setting (desirable but not essential)

Is enthusiastic about developing their skills within a primary school environment
