\nSalary: £35-45,000
\nAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CAD Layout Designer to join a busy and expanding residential team near Reading. This role would suit a skilled designer with a strong background in producing residential layouts, site plans and masterplans, who is looking to join a collaborative team working across a variety of new-build housing and apartment developments. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing accurate and well-considered layouts from initial concepts through to planning submission, working closely with planning and technical professionals throughout the process. You will play a key role in creating practical and visually strong residential schemes, ensuring designs meet planning requirements, project specifications and deadlines.
The Role:\n- \n
- Prepare detailed site layouts and residential drawings using AutoCAD. \n
- Develop masterplans and housing layouts for new-build residential developments. \n
- Produce floor plans, elevations and presentation drawings for houses and apartment schemes. \n
- Assist with the development of layouts from initial concepts through to planning submission. \n
- Revise and update drawings in response to planning, design and client feedback. \n
- Ensure layouts comply with relevant planning requirements, Building Regulations and industry standards. \n
- Work closely with planning and technical teams to develop practical and deliverable residential layouts. \n
- Provide CAD and layout design expertise across multiple live projects. \n
- Maintain accurate drawing records, revisions and version control. \n
- Manage competing priorities while ensuring drawings are delivered accurately and within project deadlines. \n

- Strong AutoCAD proficiency. \n
- Previous experience producing residential site layouts and housing schemes. \n
- Experience working on new-build housing and/or apartment developments. \n
- A good understanding of residential layouts, floor plans and building elevations. \n
- Knowledge of UK planning requirements and Building Regulations. \n
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to design. \n
- The ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. \n
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with planning, technical and design teams. \n
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel. \n
- Relevant residential design experience is essential; formal qualifications are not a prerequisite. \n
