System Design AuthorityYou will take ownership of complex maritime system design decisions shaping next generation capability for surface ship programmes. This role gives you end to end influence across requirements, architecture and delivery.What you will needBritish citizen eligible for Security Clearance (SC)Ability to obtain SC clearance if not already heldStrong background in systems engineering within a complex engineering environmentExperience working across the systems engineering lifecycle from requirements through to validationAbility to interpret customer requirements and guide technical decision makingSalary and rewardsCompetitive salary and benefitsWhat you will be doingLeading technical oversight across the full system lifecycle from requirements capture through to acceptanceTranslating customer needs into clear system specifications and architectural solutionsDefining system interfaces, integration approaches and verification strategiesSupporting technical risk identification and mitigation across bids and deliveryLeading system engineering reviews and supporting acceptance activities including trialsActing as technical authority for system design quality and engineering outputsYour experienceProven Systems Engineering experience across complex engineered products or systemsStrong understanding of system architecture, integration and lifecycle deliveryExperience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams and stakeholdersAbility to analyse complex technical problems and define structured solutionsExperience supporting verification, validation and acceptance activitiesStrong communication skills with ability to influence technical decisionsUseful Domain knowledge (can be developed on the job)Systems engineering and systems engineering lifecycle deliverySonar and underwater acousticsMaritime security systemsMarine technologyMine warfareAnti submarine warfareCommand and control systems including network architectures and softwareWhere you will workWinfrith, working onsite 3 to 4 days per week with flexibility discussed.SC clearance eligibility required, with willingness to undergo full clearance process.Foreign travel may be required to support trials, demonstrations and acceptance activities.This is a permanent role.Electus Recruitment Solutions provides specialist engineering and technical recruitment solutions to high-technology industries.
