The University of Leicester is seeking to appoint a Project Manager to support the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of capital and revenue projects across the University's estate.

Our estate spans 95 hectares and includes over 110 non-residential buildings and 191 residential properties, with the majority of academic facilities located on our main campus to the south of Leicester city centre.

Working within Estates and Campus Services, the Project Manager will provide high-quality, client-focused project management across a broad range of construction and infrastructure projects. Reporting into the Project Delivery team, you will take responsibility for planning, implementing and delivering projects ranging from Long Term Maintenance schemes and minor works programmes through to carbon and energy reduction initiatives. Typically, projects will range in value from £250,000 to £5 million and will be delivered from inception through to completion.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in shaping and enhancing the University's estate. You will be responsible for establishing project briefs, supporting business case development, procuring and managing professional consultant teams and contractors, and ensuring projects are delivered to programmes and quality standards. Working closely with a wide range of internal stakeholders, you will provide a single point of accountability for project delivery, ensuring effective communication and governance throughout the project lifecycle.

We are seeking candidates with a proven track record of delivering construction and refurbishment projects within a client-side, contractor or consultancy environment. You will possess strong technical and commercial understanding of the built environment, with experience managing projects through all stages of development and delivery. The successful candidate will have excellent stakeholder management skills, the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and a practical understanding of procurement, risk management and project controls. Experience within higher education, public sector estates, or the delivery of carbon and energy improvement projects would be advantageous.
