\nContract: Full-time, permanent
\nSalary: £28k+ subject to experience
\nWorking hours: 8:30-17:00 Monday-Friday, 1/2 hour lunch, occasional overtime
\nAbout the role
\nWe are looking for an organised and technically capable Digital Print Press Operator to join our production team in Derby.
\nYou will be responsible for operating and maintaining our Xerox digital press, producing consistently high-quality printed work and ensuring jobs are completed accurately and on time. The role requires a strong eye for colour and detail, practical problem-solving skills and the ability to manage several jobs during busy production periods.
\nThe successful candidate will understand that excellent print quality depends on careful calibration, regular maintenance and early identification of potential issues. You will take ownership of the press and its working area, helping to minimise downtime and keep production running efficiently.
\nKey responsibilities

- Operate the digital press safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. \n
- Calibrate the press to achieve optimum colour output, including measuring colour charts with a spectrophotometer. \n
- Monitor print quality throughout production and identify issues resolving any issues that may arise. \n
- Monitoring stock levels and arranging timely replenishment. \n
Essential skills and experience
\n- \n
- Experience operating a production digital print press. \n
- A good understanding of colour calibration and colour consistency. \n
- Experience using a spectrophotometer to measure colour charts. \n
- The ability to recognise and troubleshoot common print-quality issues. \n
- Confidence performing routine press maintenance and replacing consumable components. \n
- The ability to manage and queue multiple jobs efficiently. \n
- Strong organisational and workload-prioritisation skills. \n
- A careful, methodical approach with excellent attention to detail. \n
- The ability to work independently and communicate effectively with colleagues, suppliers and technical support representatives. \n
- A proactive approach to maintenance, stock management and problem-solving. \n
Desirable skills and experience
\n- \n
- Experience of Print Finishing not essential but a distinct advantage. \n
- Experience operating Xerox production print equipment. \n
- Knowledge of Fiery Command WorkStation. \n
- Knowledge of Xerox PredictPrint Media Manager. \n
- Experience managing registration profiles and front-to-back sheet alignment. \n
- Previous experience liaising with press engineers or equipment manufacturers. \n

\nYou will be comfortable taking responsibility for the day-to-day condition of the press, planning ahead for consumable requirements and keeping a clean and organised working environment. You will also remain calm under pressure and be able to adjust priorities when production requirements change.
