We are delighted to be exclusively partnering with an innovative, international technology business to recruit a Legal Counsel / Commercial Contracts Specialist into its growing in-house legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded legal professional looking to join a collaborative legal function supporting a global business at the forefront of innovation and advanced technology. We're keen to hear from both qualified and non-qualified legal professionals who have gained at least three years' in-house commercial legal experience. Whether you're a Solicitor, Contracts Manager, Commercial Paralegal, Legal Executive (including trainees), or currently progressing through the SQE, we'd love to hear from you.

The role offers genuine breadth, working alongside stakeholders across Procurement, Commercial, Finance, Operations, HR and R&D, providing practical legal support on a wide variety of commercial agreements and business projects. Experience of intellectual property, technology licensing or innovation-focused businesses would be advantageous, although not essential.

The Opportunity

You'll play a key role in supporting the business on a broad range of commercial contracts while partnering closely with stakeholders across multiple business functions.

Your work will include drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements such as:

  • Commercial supply agreements
  • \n
  • Supplier agreements
  • \n
  • Procurement agreements
  • \n
  • Terms & Conditions
  • \n
  • Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
  • \n
  • Software and technology agreements
  • \n
  • Licensing agreements
  • \n
  • Distribution agreements
  • \n
  • Research & Development (R&D) agreements
  • \n
  • Technology transfer agreements
  • \n
  • Commercial services agreements
  • \n

Alongside commercial contracting, you'll have the opportunity to become involved in wider business initiatives including procurement projects, compliance, legal process improvement, AI-enabled legal technology and supporting innovative technology programmes.

Key Responsibilities

\n
    \n
  • Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts and legal documentation.
  • \n
  • Provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice to stakeholders across the business.
  • \n
  • Support commercial negotiations with customers, suppliers and strategic partners.
  • \n
  • Advise on procurement, supplier and commercial contracting matters.
  • \n
  • Assist with technology, software, licensing and innovation-related agreements.
  • \n
  • Support the business on legal risk management and contract governance.
  • \n
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments and provide practical guidance where required.
  • \n
  • Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks and legal resources to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • \n
  • Work closely with Procurement, Commercial, Finance, Operations, HR and R&D teams to support business objectives.
  • \n
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including the use of AI and legal technology within the legal function.

About You

\n

We're interested in hearing from candidates who have:

\n
    \n
  • A minimum of three years' in-house legal experience supporting commercial contracts.
  • \n
  • Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • \n
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to provide practical, business-focused legal advice.
  • \n
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • \n
  • The confidence to manage matters independently while working collaboratively within a wider legal team.
  • \n
  • A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach.
  • \n
