Claires Court is looking for an energetic Sports Coach to join our Junior School team, primarily coaching girls in netball, hockey and athletics. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced coach, sports graduate or community sports professional who enjoys helping young people build confidence, develop new skills and discover a love of sport.

\n

\n

Previous school experience is not essential. What matters most is your ability to inspire pupils, communicate well and bring enthusiasm to every session. About the role

\n

Working alongside experienced colleagues, you will deliver PE lessons, support games sessions, lead extracurricular clubs and assist with fixtures, competitions and sporting events. The role mainly focuses on coaching Junior girls in netball, hockey and athletics, helping pupils of all abilities improve their skills and enjoyment of physical activity.

\n

\n

You will work seven hours per day, typically 9am to 4.30pm or 10am to 5.30pm, depending on the timetable. Evening and weekend fixtures are rare.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver games sessions

  • Coach netball, hockey, athletics and other sports

  • Lead clubs and support fixtures
  • \n
  • Help organise sports days, competitions and events
  • \n
  • Assist with planning, equipment and team administration
  • \n
  • Support pupil supervision, trips and residential activities
  • \n
  • Contribute to wider school life
  • \n

About you

\n

You will be positive, approachable and enthusiastic about helping young people enjoy sport. You may already work in a school, sports club or community programme, or you may be a sports graduate looking to build experience and develop a career in education.

\n

  • Experience coaching netball, hockey, athletics or another relevant sport
  • \n
  • A sports related degree, coaching qualification or strong practical experience
  • \n
  • The ability to motivate and engage young people
  • \n
  • A patient and supportive coaching style
  • \n
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • \n
  • A proactive and flexible approach
  • \n

\n

A driving licence is not required, although it may be useful for travelling to and from the Junior School site.
