Our technology helps customers combat terrorism, drug smuggling, illegal immigration, and trade fraud, enabling safer and more secure global trade.Role OverviewAs a High Voltage Technician, you will be part of a specialist production and engineering team responsible for the build, installation, testing, and maintenance of high-voltage systems. Working closely with Manufacturing Engineers and the Cargo Research Team, you will support the development and delivery of next-generation products while contributing to quality assurance and root cause analysis activities.ResponsibilitiesInstall, test, commission, and maintain high-voltage equipment including converters, transformers, filters, and control systemsCarry out diagnostics and fault finding on high-voltage systems using specialist tools and test equipmentSupport monitoring of system performance and assist with operational testing and control activitiesEnsure all work is completed in full compliance with high-voltage safety procedures, technical standards, and environmental requirementsMaintain accurate documentation including maintenance records, test results, and system configurationsOperate in accordance with ISO9001 audited quality systems and proceduresSupport product quality investigations and root cause analysis of failed hardwareUphold the companys core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and TeamworkDemonstrate behaviour consistent with the companys Code of Ethics and ConductQualifications NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related disciplineProven experience working with high-voltage electrical systemsStrong understanding of high-voltage safety procedures, including switching and lockout/tagoutAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manualsExperience working in a regulated production or engineering environmentDesirable ExperienceExperience working with HVDC systemsHV Authorised Person (AP) certificationIPC J-STD-001 soldering certificationFamiliarity with quality systems and formal engineering documentationTPBN1_UKTJ
