Project Engineer – HydraulicsLocation: Egham, SurreySalary: £35,000–£45,000Contract: PermanentWe're recruiting for a Project Engineer – Hydraulics on behalf of a well-established engineering business that designs and delivers bespoke hydraulic and motion control systems for demanding industrial applications. This is a varied, hands-on role combining project coordination, technical engineering and customer-facing work, with opportunities for both UK and international travel.This position would suit an engineer with a strong background in hydraulics who enjoys seeing projects through from initial design and build, right through to installation, commissioning and customer support.The RoleAs a Project Engineer, you'll take responsibility for coordinating technical and operational aspects of customer projects. You'll work closely with engineering, manufacturing and commissioning teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to specification.The role is primarily based at the production facility in Egham, with regular travel to customer sites for installation, testing and commissioning activities.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the implementation of projects both in-house and on customer sitesCoordinate engineering design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning and documentationMonitor project progress, resolve technical issues and report status to managementCarry out in-house setup, testing, calibration and fault-finding of hydraulic systemsSupport on-site installation, testing, calibration and commissioning activitiesEnsure compliance with relevant standards and directives (ISO, Machinery Directive, Health & Safety)Prepare method statements, risk assessments and safe systems of workAct as the technical point of contact for customers during project deliveryLiaise with customers to clarify requirements and provide post-installation trainingProvide ongoing customer support, both on-site and remotelyParticipate in design reviews and project close-out activitiesKnowledge, Skills & ExperienceEssential:Minimum 3 years' experience working with hydraulic systems in a manufacturing environmentHND or degree qualification in an engineering disciplineStrong hands-on experience with hydraulic system setup, testing and fault-findingBroad engineering knowledge across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic disciplinesAbility to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlinesStrong communication skills with a customer-focused approachWillingness to travel internationally when requiredDesirable:Formal hydraulic qualificationExperience with control systems or servo-controlled equipmentExposure to calibration, performance testing and compliance documentationExperience working on low-volume, high-value engineered systemsWhy apply?Salary of £35,000–£45,000 depending on experienceVaried role covering project delivery, hands-on engineering and customer interactionExposure to complex, high-value hydraulic systemsInternational travel opportunitiesLong-term career development within a specialist engineering environmentFor more information or to apply, contact:Lewis Phillips01582 369359TPBN1_UKTJ
