\nPay Rate: £14.31 per hour PAYE (paid weekly via Pertemps)\n
\nContract Type: Temporary Assignment\n
\nDuration: 09 August 2026 to 04 October 2026\n
\nWorking Hours: 09:00 - 17:00, shifts Monday to Sunday ( Weekend Availability Required) \n

\nPertemps are currently recruiting for a Facilities Team Member to join a busy and customer-focused accommodation and facilities environment in Gillingham, Kent on a temporary assignment from 09/08/2026 until 04/10/2026 .\n
\n
\nYou will work as part of a dedicated Facilities team, helping to provide a safe, secure, clean, compliant and well-maintained environment . You will be responsible for delivering both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance , ensuring high standards across the site at all times.\n
\n
\nThis role would suit candidates with experience as a Facilities Assistant, Maintenance Operative, Caretaker, Building Services Operative, Facilities Operative, Property Maintenance Technician, Site Assistant or General Maintenance Operative .\n
\nFacilities Team Member Key Responsibilities \n
\n
\nCarry out planned and reactive maintenance across the site. \n
\nComplete routine building inspections and maintenance checks. \n
\nRespond to maintenance requests and Health & Safety related call-outs within agreed service levels. \n
\nUndertake general building repairs and maintenance work. \n
\nWork with mechanical and electronic locking systems. \n
\nRepair and maintain doors, windows and associated fixtures. \n
\nAssist with fire alarm activations, investigations and false alarm responses. \n
\nSupport emergency building repairs and seasonal project work. \n
\nDiagnose faults, carry out repairs and escalate issues where necessary. \n
\nComplete PPM inspections and report any remedial works required. \n
\nSupport specialist contractors and competent engineers when required. \n
\nEnsure all work is completed in line with company standards, procedures and SLAs. \n
\nMaintain accurate maintenance records and documentation. \n
\nSupport sustainability initiatives and identify opportunities to improve environmental performance. \n
\nEnsure all areas remain safe, compliant, secure and fit for purpose. \n
\nFacilities Team Member Skills & Experience Required \n
\n
\nPrevious experience within Facilities Management, Building Maintenance, Property Maintenance or Site Services. \n
\nBasic joinery and carpentry skills. \n
\nBasic plastering skills, including repairing holes and wall damage. \n
\nBasic domestic plumbing experience. \n
\nAbility to complete like-for-like electrical replacements. \n
\nUnderstanding of safe isolation procedures and recording completed works. \n
\nGood fault-finding and problem-solving skills. \n
\nKnowledge of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices. \n
\nStrong communication and customer service skills. \n
\nAble to work independently and as part of a team. \n
\nFlexible approach to duties and working hours. \n
\nAvailability to work shifts between Monday and Sunday, including weekends. \n
\nDesirable \n
\n
\nExperience within student accommodation, residential, hospitality, facilities management, commercial property or housing environments. \n
\nExperience completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules. \n
\nUnderstanding of compliance and building safety requirements. \n
