Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager
Job Description
THE ROLE
\nMy client seeks a Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager who is approaching taking the APC to become RICS qualified to join them in their office in SE London / Kent borders area.
\nProjects are generally of high value and there is a particular need currently for people to work on cladding remediation projects for large residential buildings along with other residential, education, healthcare and some commercial projects.
\nYou will either be a Quantity Surveyor with an interest in project management and with a couple of years or more post graduation experience or you may be a Project Manager who has a good handle on the cost management side of projects and with a couple of years experience.
\nTHE COMPANY
\nMy client is a long established busy firm of multi disciplinary consultants with several offices.
\nTHE CANDIDATE
\nYou will either be a Quantity Surveyor with an interest in Project Management or a Project Manager with some experience of cost management.
\nYou must have at least two years post graduation experience of working with another firm of consultants / PQS.
\nYou should be working towards taking the APC towards becoming RICS qualified.
\nYou will need to have a recognised UK qualification in Quantity Surveying i.e. BSc in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or Construction Project Management.
\nYou need to have experience of cost control, contract administration, procurement and tendering along with financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
\nYou must be able to prepare cost plans, budgets and tender documentation plus procure contractors and suppliers.
\nYou should have used JCT contracts.
\nYou need to be able to do contract administration, organise meetings, take minutes etc.
\nYou will ideally be keen to do a mix of quantity surveying and project management.
\nYou should have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken to deal with people at all levels.
\nMy client will offer good prospects for rapid promotion for the right person.
