Teaching Assistant – Work Experience & CareersBirmingham - Special School - Term Time Only Do you have a passion for supporting young people with additional needs and preparing them for life beyond education?Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference both in the classroom and out in the community?An excellent SEND school in Birmingham is looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with SEND while taking a leading role in developing work experience opportunities and careers education.This is a varied and rewarding position that combines classroom support with helping young people build confidence, develop employability skills and access meaningful work placements.The RoleWorking alongside teachers and the wider school team, you will provide support to pupils in class, in small groups and on a one-to-one basis, helping them to achieve their academic, social and personal goals.Alongside your classroom responsibilities, you will play an important role in supporting the school's careers programme by:\n

• Building relationships with local employers and businesses
\n
• Supporting students in finding suitable work experience placements
\n
• Visiting pupils during placements and carrying out reviews
\n
• Liaising with employers, parents and carers
\n
• Supporting careers meetings and employability activities
\n
• Updating student placement records and careers systems
\n
• Helping to organise careers events and World of Work activities
\n

• Previous experience supporting with careers and work experience

• A full UK driving licence and access to transport

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
