Caretaker

Location: Covering school sites between Redruth & Bodmin and Liskeard & Dartington -

2 positions required. One caretaker covering Redruth and Bodmin. Other covering Liskeard and Dartington.Hours: 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday (working hours to be agreed)Contract: Permanent, Term Time (plus agreed working pattern)Start Date: ASAP

The Supply Register is recruiting on behalf of a Multi Academy Trust for two Multi-Site Caretakers / Maintenance Operatives to join their Estates Team.

This is a varied, hands-on role supporting multiple school sites, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance to ensure buildings and grounds remain safe, secure and well maintained.

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across multiple school sites.
\n
• Undertake basic repairs including carpentry, plumbing, painting, decorating and general building maintenance.
\n
• Complete routine site inspections and health & safety checks.
\n
• Ensure school buildings and grounds are safe, secure and well maintained.
\n
• Carry out minor repairs to doors, locks, fixtures and fittings.
\n
• Support with grounds maintenance and the upkeep of external areas.
\n
• Liaise with contractors and monitor works carried out on site.
\n
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and report any defects.
\n
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH and safeguarding procedures at all times.
\n

• Previous experience in a Caretaker, Site Assistant, Maintenance Operative or Facilities role.
\n
• Practical experience carrying out general maintenance and repairs.
\n
• A good understanding of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
\n
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between school sites.
\n
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
\n
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
\n
• Two professional references covering the last 24 months.
\n
• Right to work in the UK.
\n
