We are looking for a caring, resilient and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist therapeutic school in Woking, supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and additional barriers to learning. The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils both within the classroom and across the wider school environment. You will work alongside teachers and other professionals to help deliver engaging learning experiences, build positive relationships with pupils and support their educational, social and emotional development.

This is a rewarding role for someone who is enthusiastic about helping young people overcome challenges and achieve outcomes they may never have thought possible.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality classroom support and targeted interventions.
\n
• Deliver one-to-one and small group learning activities.
\n
• Support pupils with SEMH needs, SEND and EHCPs to access learning successfully
\n
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
\n
• Assist with monitoring pupil progress and reporting outcomes.
\n
• Help create and maintain a positive, purposeful and inclusive learning environment.
\n
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, families and external professionals.
\n
• Ensure safeguarding and pupil welfare remain at the forefront of practice.
\n

About You

\n
• Have experience working with children or young people, ideally within SEMH, SEND, alternative provision or care settings.
\n
• Build positive and trusting relationships with young people.
\n
• Are patient, resilient and emotionally intelligent.
\n
• Have a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners.
\n
• Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
\n
• Are committed to inclusive, child-centred education.
\n
• Understand the importance of safeguarding and promoting welfare.
\n
