Job Description
Prospero Teaching is recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistant to support students in secondary schools across the Southampton area. This role involves working closely with teachers and support staff to help students engage with learning, build confidence, and achieve their potential both academically and personally.
\nYou will provide a combination of 1:1 support and small-group assistance, helping students who may require additional support with learning, organisation, confidence, or classroom engagement. The Role:\n- \n
- Support teaching and learning across KS3 and KS4 \n
- Provide 1:1 support and assist with small-group interventions \n
- Help students remain focused, engaged, and confident in lessons \n
- Assist teachers with classroom activities and learning resources \n
- Support positive behaviour and classroom routines \n
- Build strong relationships with students and staff \n
- Encourage student participation and progress \n
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment \n
- Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently \n

- Experience working with young people \n
- Patient, supportive, and approachable manner \n
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills \n
- Able to build positive relationships with students \n
- Adaptable and responsive to different learning needs \n
- Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team \n
- Backgrounds in youth work, coaching, tutoring, childcare, or education welcomed \n

- Working Pattern: Full-time, term-time \n
- Pay Rate:£14.25 - £15.66 per hour \n
- Key Stages: KS3 & KS4 \n

- Experience working with young people desirable \n
- SEN experience beneficial but not essential \n
- Safeguarding training can be provided \n
