Mechanical Fitter

The Opportunity:This is an exciting opportunity to join a respected and established international engineering company currently undergoing significant growth with the opportunity for some Worldwide Travel. We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter who can confidently assemble large bespoke systems. These units can range from 3.5 to 7 tonnes, containing up to 3,000 components (excluding nuts and bolts), and can take several months to complete.Youll either have completed a formal Engineering Apprenticeship or be a highly experienced fitter who has learned on the job. The role is hands-on and varied, requiring both basic and precision fitting using tools such as feeler gauges and clocks for assembling gears, bearings, and more.Key Responsibilities:Interpret and Work from Engineering DrawingsAssemble Precision Parts, Sub-Assemblies, and Full SystemsCarry out Final Testing and Commissioning of Part or Fully Completed SystemsTravel Domestically and Internationally (up to 20% of the Time, including up to 10% in Asia) to Perform Installations, Commissioning, and Maintenance (includes Working at Height)Use Hand and Power Tools ConfidentlyWork Independently after receiving Product Specific TrainingDesirable Experience & Skills:Engineering Apprenticeship or Relevant Qualification (or Extensive Hands-On Experience)Experience Building Sub-Assemblies and Integrating them into Full SystemsProven ability to follow Technical Drawings and SpecificationsExperience in a Manufacturing or Engineering Environment as a Mechanical FitterSome Electrical Knowledge is Advantageous, though not EssentialSheet Metal Work Experience is a plusValid UK Driving LicenceStrong Attention to Detail and CraftsmanshipExcellent Communication and Interpersonal SkillsAbility to Represent the Company Professionally at Customer SitesFlexible and Proactive Attitude to Working Hours and ResponsibilitiesWorking Hours:Monday to FridayChoice of Shift: 7:00 AM 3:00 PM or 8:00 AM 4:00 PMOvertime Regularly AvailableWhen Working Off-Site, youll be Paid for a Minimum 12-Hour Day£31,200 basic with overtime expected earnings up to £39,000TPBN1_UKTJ
