Location: West LondonSalary: £19,176 - £21,462 per annum (actual salary)Hours: 14.4 hours per week (Thursdays and Fridays)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and inspirational Section Manager - Creative Arts to lead and support a vibrant Creative Arts curriculum area within a well-established Further Education provider in West London.

This is a part-time management position, working two days per week (Thursday and Friday), offering the opportunity to combine curriculum leadership with teaching and staff development responsibilities.

You will play a key role in driving student recruitment, retention and achievement while ensuring a high-quality learning experience for learners across Creative Arts programmes. Working closely with the Head of School, you will help shape curriculum provision, support teaching excellence and contribute to the continued growth and success of the department.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading and supporting lecturers to deliver outstanding teaching, learning and assessment.
\n
• Managing curriculum delivery across Creative Arts programmes.
\n
• Supporting student recruitment, retention and achievement strategies.
\n
• Contributing to curriculum planning, development and quality improvement.
\n
• Monitoring performance data and implementing actions to drive learner success.
\n
• Conducting staff appraisals, observations and developmental support activities.
\n
• Building and maintaining relationships with employers and external partners.
\n
• Promoting work experience and employability opportunities within the curriculum.
\n
• Assisting with timetabling and resource planning.
\n
• Teaching within your specialist subject area as required.
\n

About You

You will be an experienced educator and curriculum leader who is passionate about helping learners achieve their potential.

Essential Requirements

\n
• Degree in a relevant Creative Arts discipline.
\n
• Recognised teaching qualification at Level 5 or above (such as DET, PGCE or equivalent).
\n
• Recent successful teaching experience with learners aged 16-18.
\n
• Experience of curriculum management, coordination or team leadership.
\n
• Experience delivering UAL qualifications and programmes.
\n
• Strong understanding of quality assurance, curriculum planning and performance monitoring.
\n
• Ability to support and develop teaching staff to achieve high standards.
\n
• Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
\n
• Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and safeguarding.
\n

Desirable

\n
• Industry experience within Media, Art and Design or another Creative Arts specialism.
\n
• Experience working with employer partnerships and employability initiatives.
\n
• Evidence of ongoing professional development.
\n
