Nursery - Baby Room Leader

Our client is looking for a passionate, experienced and motivated Room Leader to join our team.
\nWe are seeking someone who can lead by example, inspire their team and create a nurturing, inclusive and stimulating environment where every child is supported to thrive.
\nThis role is ideal for a confident practitioner with strong knowledge of the EYFS, excellent leadership skills and a genuine passion for supporting children’s individual development, including children with SEND.
\nAbout the Role
\nAs Room Leader, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day organisation and quality of your room, ensuring that children receive consistently high-quality care, education and support.
\nYou will lead and motivate your team, promote excellent practice and work closely with the Nursery Management Team, SENDCo, families and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for every child.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Lead and support your room team, promoting a positive, professional and collaborative working environment. \n
- Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the room, ensuring high standards of care, safety and education. \n
- Provide high-quality, inclusive care and education in line with the EYFS and Birth to Five Matters. \n
- Lead the planning and delivery of developmentally appropriate experiences based on children’s individual interests, needs and stages of development. \n
- Ensure observations, assessments and next steps are completed effectively and used to identify and support progress. \n
- Champion inclusive practice and ensure children with additional needs receive appropriate support and targeted interventions.Adapt environments, routines and activities to meet a range of individual needs. \n
- Build strong and professional relationships with parents and carers, maintaining effective communication about children’s development and wellbeing. \n
- Mentor and support practitioners, helping to develop confidence, knowledge and quality of practice. \n
- Lead by example in promoting safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality and professional standards. \n
- Ensure the room is safe, welcoming, stimulating and well organised at all times. \n
- Contribute positively to the wider nursery team and support the nursery’s vision, values and continuous improvement. \n
What We’re Looking For

- Level 3 qualified in Early Years/Childcare – essential \n
- Experienced within an early years or nursery setting. \n
- Ideally experienced in a Room Leader, Senior Practitioner or similar leadership role. \n
- Confident in leading and supporting a team. \n
- Knowledgeable and passionate about the EYFS and child development. \n
- Experienced in supporting children with SEND and implementing individualised strategies. \n
- Confident in planning, observation, assessment and identifying meaningful next steps. \n
- Patient, nurturing, reflective and able to remain calm under pressure. \n
- An excellent communicator who can build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues. \n
- Organised, reliable and able to take responsibility for the effective running of a room. \n
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. \n
- Enthusiastic about professional development and maintaining high standards of practice. \n
Essential Requirements
\nLevel 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification
\nMinimum 2 years' childcare experience
\nStrong knowledge of the EYFS and child development
\nExperience supporting children with SEND
\nEnhanced DBS – Update Service preferred
\nPaediatric First Aid – desirable
