Leasehold Alteration Surveyor
\nLocation: West London Rate: £400 per dayContract: Initial 3 months (extension likely)
\n\nSpencer Clarke Group are supporting a local authority to appoint a Leasehold Surveyor into a Housing/Capital Investment function.
\nThis is a hands-on role overseeing leaseholder alteration requests and investigating unauthorised works, plus acting as the Council's adjoining owner surveyor under the Party Wall Act. You will also provide wider project/contract support across housing assets, including complex building surveying issues.
\n\nResponsibilities include
\n- \n
- Managing the leaseholder alterations process from enquiry through to inspection and sign-off \n
- Investigating unauthorised alterations and supporting enforcement action where required \n
- Ensuring compliance across Building Control, Planning, H&S, asbestos management, fire integrity, access, noise, waste management and safe systems of work \n
- Acting as adjoining owner surveyor under the Party Wall Act, including pre, during and post works inspections \n
- Supporting project delivery and contract administration, including specifications, tendering, valuations and final accounts \n
- Working across stakeholders (repairs, H&S, home ownership, FRA/fire teams, planning/building control, contractors and consultants) \n
About you
\n- \n
- Degree (or equivalent) in Building Surveying \n
- Strong working knowledge of Party Wall Act and acting as a party wall surveyor \n
- Good understanding of leasehold legislation and Section 20 (Commonhold and Leasehold Reform related consultation) \n
- Experience with contract admin, tendering and managing works on site \n
- Confident dealing with complex building surveying issues and statutory compliance \n
- Strong written and verbal communication \n
