Desired Background:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) holder
  • Valid state licensure, or eligibility to obtain licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Illinois
  • Prior school-based experience as an SLP preferred, with a strong grasp of IEP processes
  • A collaborative spirit, strong communication skills, and dedication to student progress
  • Ability to adapt activities to diverse learning needs and act as a resource to staff and families

Role Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for students
  • Develop and implement individualized IEPs based on each student’s unique needs
  • Provide direct and consultative speech-language therapy
  • Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
  • Maintain thorough documentation and participate in team meetings
  • Collaborate with educators and families to facilitate student success
  • Foster a supportive, motivating atmosphere that helps students achieve communication goals
