Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A pharmacy professional is sought for a contract-to-hire role focused on long-term care and mail order pharmacy services. This position offers a second shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm, with some Saturdays required, for an 8-week duration. Two openings are available.
Location: West Bend, WI
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 1:00 pm – 9:30 pm
- Some Saturdays
Responsibilities include:
- Accepting and dispensing prescription medications accurately.
- Monitoring patient medication compliance and identifying overuse patterns.
- Ensuring medication supply aligns with legal regulations and prescriptions are appropriate for patients.
- Maintaining confidential patient records and managing pharmacy files appropriately.
- Advising patients on medication use, potential side effects, and addressing their questions.
- Consulting on prescription and over-the-counter medications regarding storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
- Providing patient services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
- Educating patients on the proper use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
- Compounding medications and preparing sterile solutions as per protocols.
- Supervising pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
- Managing pharmaceutical and medical supply inventories.
- Collaborating with physicians and healthcare providers to resolve drug-related patient issues.
Desired Qualifications:
- Licensed Pharmacist with an active Wisconsin pharmacy license.
- Previous pharmacy experience required.
- Long-term care (LTC) pharmacy experience is a strong plus.
