Step into a key support role as an Occupational Therapist in a small, cohesive district setting. This contract opportunity offers stability and variety as you serve students across multiple campuses, collaborating with 2-3 enthusiastic Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs). The assignment is set to run through the end of the school year, with a weekly commitment of 37.5 hours.

Bring your expertise in school-based OT, where your primary focus will be on conducting evaluations and providing vital supervision for COTAs under your guidance. Your ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation will be essential—weekly timelogs must be submitted to the Director for the approval of worked hours, per district policy. Please note, pay is based on actual hours worked on-site during student attendance days.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Active Occupational Therapist licensure in Texas
  • Previous experience in school-based OT settings, preferably with evaluation and supervision responsibilities
  • Familiarity with ESPED (IEP System) for effective documentation and compliance
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for working collaboratively with COTAs and district staff
  • Adaptability to travel across district campuses as needed
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to track hours and case progress accurately

Role Responsibilities:

  • Administer assessments and develop treatment plans for students
  • Oversee and support the work of 2-3 COTAs
  • Complete and submit weekly timelogs to ensure approval and accuracy of hours worked
  • Maintain compliance with district and state documentation requirements
  • Consult with educational teams and families to promote student success across all assigned campuses
