School-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) | Westland, Michigan

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid COTA certification and active state licensure
• Previous experience in school-based occupational therapy (preferred)
• Strong understanding of IEPs, progress monitoring, and documentation
• Ability to collaborate effectively with OTs, teachers, and support staff
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
• Comfortable supporting a diverse student population, adapting strategies as needed

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and indirect occupational therapy services under the supervision of an OT
• Support classroom staff in implementing accommodations and modifications
• Assist with sensory and motor skill interventions tailored to individual student needs
• Monitor and document student progress, maintaining accurate records
• Communicate regularly with teachers, staff, and families regarding student goals
• Participate in IEP meetings, team planning sessions, and professional development as scheduled
