This contract opportunity is ideal for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with a passion for helping children reach their full communication potential within a collaborative educational environment.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Valid state licensure (or eligibility for licensure as an SLP in Illinois)
- Prior experience working with school-aged children is highly valued
- Ability to assess, diagnose, and treat a range of speech, language, and communication disorders
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with students, families, teachers, and other specialists
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations and collaborate on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Design and implement evidence-based therapy sessions tailored to meet the unique needs of each student
- Document progress, maintain records, and complete IEP-related paperwork in a timely and organized manner
- Serve as a resource to school staff and participate in in-service trainings and multidisciplinary meetings
- Engage families and teachers to maximize each student’s learning and communicative outcomes
- Remain current on best practices in the field and adhere to all ethical and professional standards
