Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a School Psychologist in a vibrant educational community near Sunnyvale, CA. This in-person, itinerant assignment spans two school sites and is anticipated to cover a maternity leave from November through March 31. You’ll have the chance to build meaningful connections, provide essential services, and help young learners thrive academically and emotionally.
This role focuses on delivering comprehensive special education psychological services, including assessments, counseling, and behavior interventions for an elementary caseload. By collaborating with educators, administrators, and families, you’ll play a key role in fostering a supportive learning environment where every student’s unique needs are understood and addressed.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid School Psychologist credential (CA Psy credential or eligibility)
- Proven experience with SPED assessments, behavior support, and counseling in K-6 settings
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel between two school locations during the week
- Commitment to in-person collaboration and services
- Familiarity with diverse student backgrounds and IEP teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and interpret special education assessments for referred students
- Provide counseling and develop individual and group behavior supports
- Consult with educators and families to develop effective strategies and interventions
- Participate in IEP meetings and help drive student success plans
- Maintain accurate, confidential records and progress monitoring data
- Support a positive and inclusive school culture
