School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Cicero, Illinois

Step into a rewarding role serving young learners as a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist within a dynamic early childhood program. This contract opportunity offers 2.5 days per week (18 hours) across the full school year, allowing you to make a meaningful impact while maintaining valuable work-life balance. In addition to the primary early childhood role, there are also two available full-time elementary maternity leave positions, extending from August to October and August to December, offering expanded ways to contribute to students’ development.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Valid SLP-CCC certification
• Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of early childhood language and communication development
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with children, families, and educators
• Adaptable, organized, and compassionate approach to supporting diverse student needs

Responsibilities:

• Provide assessments and therapy for a varied early childhood caseload
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans targeting articulation, fluency, language, and pragmatic skills
• Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and families to support student progress
• Maintain thorough documentation of sessions, progress notes, and compliance with state and federal guidelines
• Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and support the school’s mission to foster inclusive learning environments
• For maternity leave roles, deliver speech therapy services to elementary-aged students and ensure continuity of care during the primary SLP’s absence
