Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI)
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) required
- Prior experience in educational or school-based settings is highly preferred
- Ability to manage a flexible caseload, supporting 1–2 students at a time and adapting to evolving needs
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Comfortable working onsite or virtually for the right candidate
What You’ll Do:
- Interpret classroom instruction, group discussions, assemblies, and extracurricular activities for assigned students
- Foster understanding and participation for students in both academic and social contexts
- Collaborate closely with teachers, special education staff, and administrators to meet individual student needs
- Prepare for and adapt to a variety of school environments and curricula
- Contribute insights to student planning meetings when relevant
- Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with all school and district policies
