Legal Secretary (Litigation)

LHH is partnering with a law firm to hire a Legal Secretary to support a busy litigation practice.

Compensation $85,000 - $105,000 annually

Locations: Oakland, CA, San Francisco, CA, San Jose, CA

Schedule Full-time, 90-day onsite training period required (5 days/week in office), Hybrid schedule after training: 2 days onsite, 3 days remote

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys
  • Draft, revise, proofread, and format legal and business documents
  • Maintain attorney calendars, contacts, and deadlines
  • Coordinate meetings, conference calls, and travel arrangements
  • Review and route incoming mail and correspondence
  • Maintain electronic case and administrative files
  • Enter attorney time and assist with billing processes
  • Prepare expense reimbursements and check requests
  • Assist with closing binders and closing checklists
  • Provide backup support to other legal secretaries as needed
Required Qualifications
  • 5-8+ years of legal secretary experience
  • Experience supporting attorneys in a law firm environment
  • Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong judgment, professionalism, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Real Estate and/or Business Law experience
  • Paralegal certificate or paralegal background
Technical Skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Adobe Acrobat
  • Electronic document management systems
  • Time-entry and billing software
  • Calendaring and docketing software
  • Experience with NetDocs, Best Authority, CompuLaw/ProLaw, and Aderant is a plus
